What a bright and wonderful man. We are all better for having known him. His imprint will continue to bless us all. I found a few pictures from the lab in New Mexico where he practiced his craft of being delightful.

I am so sorry to learn of Wies’ death, and so happy to know he was surrounded by everyone who loved him dearly. I have many fond memories of working in the lab with Wies, one of the best colleagues I ever had, and someone with so many novel research ideas. He was also a great friend. I have happy memories of Maurie and my visit to Poland in 2006 and of celebrating Christmas with Wies and Anna in 2013. Wies will be remembered by so many good friends and colleagues. To the Kozak family I send heartfelt sympathy for your loss with hopes that your happy memories sustain you in the coming times of grief.

OH, I am so sorry to hear that Wies is no longer around to brighten the days of all those near him. I peg him as the most fun person my Mom knew. His sharp mind allowed him to see such interesting connections that often had my mother chuckling at the absurdity.
